Take your complimentary PDQ-39 assessment.

It is completely free. The PDQ-39 is the Parkinson's Disease Questionnaire, the licensed quality-of-life questionnaire developed at the University of Oxford and used with people who have Parkinson's around the world. In about ten minutes it shows you how Parkinson's is affecting your daily life right now. When you finish, you pick a time to review your results with a Brain Regen coordinator, also at no cost.

What almost no one explains

Parkinson's doesn't start with the tremor.

By the time Parkinson's has a name, the process has usually been building for 10, 20, even 30 years. The tremor, the stiffness, the fatigue, the freezing, those outward symptoms are the surface. They are the late signs of something that has been moving quietly underneath for a very long time. And here is the part almost no one is told. Parkinson's is not one condition. What is driving it, and how it shows up, is different from one person to the next. It is why two people with the very same diagnosis can need almost opposite things. Over years of clinical pattern recognition across thousands of people, Dr. Greg came to recognize five distinct Parkinson's Types.

What your PDQ-39 reveals

Eight areas of your life, measured honestly.

Parkinson's does not just live in your hands. The PDQ-39 measures where it is really reaching, across the parts of daily life that matter most. For a lot of people, it is the first real baseline they have ever had.

01

Movement & getting around

Walking, balance, and staying steady on your feet.

02

Everyday activities

Dressing, eating, and the tasks that fill a day.

03

Emotional well-being

Mood, worry, and how you are really coping.

04

Feeling understood

Stigma, and whether the people around you get it.

05

Support from others

The help and backing you have in your corner.

06

Focus & memory

Concentration, recall, and thinking clearly.

07

Communication

Speaking, being heard, and staying connected.

08

Physical comfort

Pain, cramps, restlessness, and rest.

The five types

Five types of Parkinson's. Which may be yours?

01
Overstimulationthe wound-up type

A nervous system that has been running hot for too long. Symptoms often worse later in the day and at night, with poor sleep and a tension you cannot shake.

02
Stagnationthe stuck type

Poor flow, in the body and the emotions. Fixed pain, rigidity, a sense of slowing down and locking up, often in people carrying long-running stress.

03
Lifeforcethe low-reserve type

A constitutional low battery. Weak drive, poor stamina, slow to recover from anything, a tank that never quite holds a charge.

04
Obstructionthe congested type

Physical and metabolic congestion. Sluggish digestion, heaviness, brain fog, a system whose clearance has backed up.

05
Deficientthe depleted type

A deep depletion of the body's reserves. Thin, dry, worse at night, low resilience, the well drawn down over years.

What happens next

Your results are where the assessment comes to life.

The PDQ-39 gives you the picture. The review is where a Brain Regen coordinator sits with you, reads it in plain language, connects it to the five-types framework, and helps you see your best next step.

It is a real conversation about your results, and what they may mean for you. It is complimentary, and you are welcome to bring your spouse or the person who is in this with you.

Who built this

Dr. Greg Eckel, N.D.

Dr. Greg did not start in neurology. He started as a preschool teacher in Portland, watching a four-year-old sit dulled and flat on medication prescribed to make the classroom easier, certain there had to be a better way. That thought pushed him into medicine.

In 2018 it became personal. His wife, Sarieah, was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive neurodegenerative disease, and for the first time he sat on the other side of the table, the side you may be sitting on now, asking whether anything could be done. The system had no real answers, and it took his hope to zero.

So he stopped asking what could be prescribed, and started asking something deeper: why this was happening, in this body, at this time, and what was driving it. That question became his life's work. It became The Eckel Protocol® and Brain Regen.

He is a naturopathic physician trained in both naturopathic and Chinese medicine, a past president of the Oregon Board of Naturopathic Medicine, and the author of the best-selling Defying Parkinson's. The coordinators you meet are the team he trained himself.

Good to know

Questions people ask us.

What is the PDQ-39, exactly?

It is the Parkinson's Disease Questionnaire, a validated, licensed quality-of-life questionnaire developed at the University of Oxford for people with Parkinson's. It looks at how you are doing across eight areas of daily life and shows where things are affecting you most right now. It is not a diagnosis. It is a clear picture of where you stand, and the first step toward understanding your type.

Is it really free?

Yes. Both the PDQ-39 assessment and the results review with a Brain Regen coordinator are complimentary. There is no cost to see your results and talk them through.

Does the PDQ-39 tell me my type?

Not on its own. Your type comes from a deeper look at your constitution, history, and labs. The PDQ-39 and your results review are where that journey starts.

How long does it take?

The assessment takes about ten minutes, one question at a time. The results review afterward is about 45 minutes.

Can my spouse or caregiver join the review?

Please bring them. This lands differently when the people who are in it with you are on the call too.
